The statistics of young men can help us to understand how we can better assist young males to develop into nuturing and productive members of our community.

 

Did you know:

• 70% of social commentary on young males is unfavourable

(Dr Jim Macnamara, University of Western Sydney)

• The top two causes of death for males under 25 years old are suicide and road accidents

(Movember Health, 2007)

•  The rate of young men who identified self harm as a major issue is 1 in 5.

(Mission Australia, National Youth Survey 2006)
