Illawarra's Best Catch is a community project which celebrates the positive contributions of young men in the Illawarra and encourages them to continue working for the community.
All proceeds raised each year will go towards a different non-profit organisation within the Illawarra to continue and enhance the programs for those in need.
Illawarra's Best Catch is about finding the male who has the most to offer the community. Whether volunteering with a non-profit organisation or being active about issues that they are passionate about - it is important to recognise that young men can be a powerful influence in the community.
With constant messages that young men are risk-takers, careless drivers, aggressive and rebellious - these representations are limiting in the definition of the young male. Illawarra's Best Catch provides the platform for young men to introduce and present alternative ideas on who they are and who they can become.
