What's 50 Top Blokes?

Here at Best Catch Foundation, we were chatting the other day about what makes a top bloke. After a long discussion we all concluded that it has something to do with a mate who lends a helping hand (and yes someone did try to convince us that a wingman was the ultimate top bloke).

What we know for sure is that local organisations at times struggle to get young male volunteers on board. We all feel young men can contribute using their energy, creativity and savviness. But in the Illawarra only 8% of young males aged 18-24 volunteer.

So if you're a young male, we want to link you with volunteering roles that you may not have heard of before - you now have the opportunity to trial volunteering with local exciting organisations.

This is a perfect opportunity to build that resume, to learn new skills, develop your contacts within the community and feel those warm fuzzy feelings of goodness (oh and we hear 'volunteering' has become the new pick up line)

But what type of volunteering exists? The usual type, but also the not so usual. Did you know you could volunteer as a pilot for Aerial Patrol? Be a mentor to young people facing homelessness? Or be part of the St John Ambulance or Marine Rescue NSW? And it's all local.

So we're now searching for 50 Top Blokes in 50 Days. We have 12 different exciting volunteering opportunities that you can choose from. And registration is easy.

Ah, but you have no time between your work, study and weekend parties? Well if you're strapped for time but still want to be one of the Top Blokes - we encourage you to purchase gifts to Australian organisations working to alleviate poverty across the world.
